F.E.A.R. (False Expectation Appearing Real)
Fear is not an illusion, on the contrary, it’s very real but not in the way you think. It is true that fear keeps us comfortable but on the flip side, it keeps us stagnant and it hinders our ability to share and move forward. Think about it, right now you’re most likely experiencing fear that is stopping you from doing something you really want to do. You wish the fear would simply go away, but it doesn’t because that’s not how it works. So, let’s break it down for you to have a better understanding of it.  Every time we experience fear, we enter a physical state of hyper-awareness that carries a double meaning. This physical state can be described as either being excited or being afraid.  Once you’re in this stage, your heart beats faster and here’s where you must decide if you want fear to work for you or against you. In this physical state of hyper-awareness, you can control your thoughts and tell yourself “I’m excited” rather than “I’m afraid” while keeping your physical state intact. Once you do this, you will enter a state of relaxation that will allow your mind to think freely. In addition, you can think about a positive outcome to boost your confidence. For example, if your fear is public speaking, think about the value your audience will receive by sharing your content with them. It’ll be amazing and remember, tell yourself, “I’m excited” and not “I’m afraid”! Now that you’re aware, apply it in your life and enjoy the results. Fear is merely a false expectation appearing real.
